The decision to extend the restriction is based on an analysis of the current security situation, with Israel coming under missile and rocket fire from Iran and Hezbollah, including several sirens in central Israel near where Ben-Gurion Airport is located.
If the security situation changes, the restrictions at Ben-Gurion Airport may also be lifted before this date.
However, it cannot be ruled out that the security situation will remain unchanged, and the restrictions may be extended beyond April 16.
